To replace a lost or stolen permit you will need to get a police report from your Local Police Department specifically stating that your CCW Permit was either lost or stolen.
Lost or Stolen Permits That Have Not Expired:
A permit that has not expired can only be replaced by the Sheriff’s Office from which you applied and received it. If your permit is from Hamilton County and is active, no appointment is required. We will mail your permit to you.
- Note: If your lost or stolen permit is active, but was not issued by the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office, please contact the issuing county for further details.
- Have the following documents ready for upload:
- Police Report
- Valid State Issued ID (e.g. Driver’s License)

Lost or Stolen Permits That Have Expired:
- A permit that has expired and needs to be replaced can be replaced and renewed within Hamilton County (regardless of the county out of which it was issued). A renewal appointment is required.
- Have the following documents ready for upload:
- Police Report
- Valid State Issued ID (e.g. Driver’s License)
